Kyrgyzstan reports 521 new COVID-19 cases, 12,498 in total

Bishkek, July 16, 2020 / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan reported 521 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 12,498. Head of the public health care department of the country’s Health Ministry Ainura Akmatova said that among the new cases 96 are medical workers, raising the tally of contracted medical workers to 2076, including 583 recoveries. Akmatova said that 75 more cases of COVID-19 infection were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday. In all, 5,632 have fully recovered from the infection, including 1,897 who received treatment at home. There are currently 682 confirmed cases, who are still in hospitals, 16 of them are in intensive care units and another 6,017 asymptomatic patients are in home quarantine. The death toll reached 167 after 7 more fatalities were added. Kyrgyz health professionals conducted 2,266 coronavirus tests in the past 24 hours.
