Kyrgyzstan reports 245 new COVID-19 cases

Bishkek, Oct. 8, 2020 / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan reported 245 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, raising the nationwide tally to 48,342.
Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Sabirzhan Abdikarimov told at a briefing at Kabar News Agency that out of the new cases 10 are medical workers.
“Yesterday and today, the country registered the highest rates for the last week. If earlier the growth of coronavirus disease was observed in the south of the country, now the highest rate is recorded in Bishkek. Over the past day, 77 cases have been registered in Bishkek. This indicator was observed in early August,” the minister said expaling the increase of infected with non observance of sanitary measures.
He also said that 159 patients recovered over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of recovered ones to 43,957 since the outbreak of the disease in Kyrgyzstan.
There are 1,366 COVID-19 patients being treated in hospital at present and 1,491 people are receiving treatment at home.
In addition, 4 new deaths were registered over the past day, taking the virus-related death tally to 1,073, with no new deaths reported in the previous 24 hours.
