Kyrgyzstan reports 222 new COVID-19 cases

Bishkek, April 8, 2021. / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan reported 222 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, raising the total infections to 89,660 nationwide. According to data of the Republican Headquarters for Combating COVID-19, of the total number of infected, 183 cases are registered in the Kyrgyz capital city. Bishkek remains the most virus-hit area in Kyrgyzstan. 111 more recoveries were registered over the past day, taking the count to 85,607. The pandemic has so far claimed 1,516 lives in Kyrgyzstan since its beginning, up by 3 in the past 24 hours, the headquarters said. Currently, 712 coronavirus patients are receiving treatment in hospitals throughout the country, with 24 of them in critical condition. Another 870 patients are receiving treatment at home. 3,924 tests for the virus have been carried out in the country over the past day.
