Kyrgyzstan registers 549 new COVID-19 cases

Bishkek, Aug. 6, 2020 / Kabar /. Kyrgyzstan registered on Thursday 549 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 38,659. Ainura Akmatova, the head of the public health care department of the country’s Health Ministry told a daily news briefing that 110 of the new cases are laboratory confirmed cases and 439 are clinically confirmed cases. Of the total number of COVID-19 cases, 17,159 are laboratory-confirmed cases and 21,500 are clinically-confirmed cases. In addition, 37 of the new cases are medical workers, bringing the total number of contracted medical workers to 2,911, including 1,973 recoveries. Akmatova said that 589 patients of COVID-19 have recovered over the past day, bringing the total recoveries to 30,099. The virus-related death tally climbed to 1,447, with 9 more recorded in the previous 24 hours. Currently, there are 7,165 active cases of COVID-19 in the country, all of them are receiving treatment in hospitals.
