Kyrgyzstan receives 400 ventilators and 2 mln masks as humanitarian aid from Kazakhstan

Bishkek, Nov. 26, 2020 / Kabar/. Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Elvira Surabaldieva took part in the handover ceremony of humanitarian aid from Kazakhstan, the government’s press service said. “On behalf of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, I express my gratitude to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the humanitarian assistance provided. The provision of support from the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan in a difficult period for our country is another proof of truly fraternal relations between the countries. Today we have received humanitarian aid in the form of 400 portable ventilators and 2 million medical masks, which will be distributed among the medical institutions of the republic,” vice prime minister said. Elvira Surabaldieva noted that earlier the Kazakh side provided humanitarian aid several times in the fight against COVID-19. Thus, in order to support food security, 5 tons of flour were delivered. In addition to humanitarian assistance, the Kazakh side provided assistance in opening a transport corridor and providing transit for the return of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic from third countries. “We appreciate the help and support of the Kazakh people. I am sure that within the framework of the bilateral strategic partnership, we will jointly overcome the existing difficulties. I wish our peoples peace, prosperity and development,” the vice prime minister said. Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Kyrgyz Republic Kairat Nurpeisov noted that the Kazakh side is ready to coordinate efforts to combat the spread of coronavirus infection.
