Kyrgyzstan to receive Russian Sputnik V vaccine today

Bishkek, April 22, 2021 . / Kabar / . The first batch of the Sputnik V Russian vaccine in the amount of 20 thousand doses will arrive in Bishkek on Thursday at 3:15 p.m., the Embassy of Russia in Kyrgyzstan said. Delivery is part of an agreement reached during the visit of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov to Moscow on Feb. 24-25, 2021. The handover ceremony will take place at the Manas International Airport with the participation of Russian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Nikolai Udovichenko and First Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Artem Novikov. The Ministry of Health and Social Development reported that after the vaccines arrive, a decision will be made in the days to select the category of citizens to be vaccinated. A vaccination against the novel coronavirus started on March 29 in Kyrgyzstan. On March 19, the country received 150 thousand doses of the Sinopharm vaccine from the Chinese manufacturer Beijing Institute of Biological Product Co. Ltd on March 19. The vaccination is carried out twice, with an interval of 25-28 days. No side effects have been reported after immunization with this vaccine.
