Kyrgyzstan may enter positive growth zone by year-end: World Bank

Bishkek, May 12, 2021. / Kabar / . By the end of the year, Kyrgyzstan may enter the positive zone of economic growth, senior economist of the World Bank in Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Dubashov voiced such forecasts.
He noted that according to the results of the first quarter of 2021, Kyrgyzstan is in the negative growth zone.
"We expect that by the end of the year we will be able to enter the positive growth zone of the economy. But there is a lot of uncertainty and risks," the economist noted.
Dubashev said that 2020 showed how the pandemic, as well as political events, affected the economy of the country.
"GDP figures were among the worst in the region. We can talk about an uncertainty on rate of the economy’s recovery in the future, the level of confidence of investors and those in business," he added.
