Kyrgyzstan, China to hold joint cultural events

The National Library of the Kyrgyz Republic named after Alykul Osmonov hosted on Thursday a meeting between Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy Kairat Imanaliyev and Ambassador of China to Kyrgyzstan Du Dewen. Minister Imanaliyev welcomed Du Dewen, and together with Director of the Library Nurzhan Imankulova gave a brief tour of the library, the press service of the Culture Ministry said. Special attention was paid to the Kyrgyz-Chinese Study Center, which is attended by young people interested in Chinese culture. In turn, the Chinese ambassador noted the importance of culture in the well-being of the people and the special role of the culture minister in bringing peoples together. Kairat Imanaliyev noted that in the current difficult situation, the free development of culture and art is necessary to maintain the spiritual morality of citizens. Thus, within the framework of the planned signing of the Protocol between Kyrgyzstan’s Culture Ministry and the General Administration of Press and Publication of China on the implementation of the project on the mutual translation and publication of significant works of classical national literature, writers of the two countries will be invited, whose works will be translated into the Kyrgyz and Chinese languages. In addition, the sides discussed the upcoming important dates, such as the 30th anniversary of independence of the Kyrgyz Republic, the 100th anniversary of the Communist Party of China, as well as the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and China. Minister Imanaliyev and Ambassador Dewen agreed to work together on specific events to be held on these dates.
