Kyrgyz PM stresses importance to give impetus to implementation of joint projects within EAEU

To form the digital space of the Eurasian Economic Union, it is important to give impetus to the implementation of joint projects in this area, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Ulukbek Maripov said during a plenary session of the Almaty Digital Forum 2021 entitled "Digital Uploading: Flight to New Reality”. "Undoubtedly, each of the countries of the Union has achieved certain results in digital transformation. Nevertheless, in order to meet the challenges of free movement of goods, development of transit potential, exports and free movement of citizens, digital initiatives aimed at promoting integration need to be supported. The need for international cooperation has become even more pronounced with the emergence of cybersecurity and personal data protection. Cybersecurity issues should be addressed, taking into account the global, transnational nature of cyber threats. It is also advisable to form a permanent platform for dialogue between representatives of the digital markets industry, the Eurasian Economic Commission and the member states of the integration association," Ulukbek Maripov said. The head of the government noted the Kyrgyz Republic is taking active measures to create the necessary conditions for the development and vision of business, as well as the conditions for the comfortable life of citizens with the introduction of digital technology and the formation of an open digital society. "Today we have built a basic information environment with a major focus on the social block, including education and health, which showed its effectiveness during the COVID-19 pandemic. There are big plans ahead for expanded digital adoption. The full-scale use of digital technologies is a key element of policy and runs through all national priorities for the socio-economic development of the country," the Kyrgyz prime minister stressed. In conclusion of his speech, Maripov expressed confidence that all the initiatives raised at the Forum would find implementation and contribute to strengthening the foundation for the development of cooperation and achievement of joint goals.
