Kyrgyz-German round table "Chances and Opportunities in Agrarian Sector of Kyrgyzstan" held

Bishkek, Nov. 27, 2020 / Kabar/. A Kyrgyz-German online round table was held on Nov. 26, 2020, on the topic: "Chances and opportunities in the agrarian sector of Kyrgyzstan", the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan said.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Germany together with the Eastern Committee of the German Economy.
Minister of Agriculture, Food Industry and Land Reclamation of the Kyrgyz Republic Tilek Toktogaziev and Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Germany Erlan Abdyldaev made a welcoming speeches. On behalf of the German side, the event was opened by Executive Director of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy M. Harms.
Toktogaziev in his welcoming speech noted the timeliness and relevance of this event in the current difficult period, including for our country, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the same time, he indicated that the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic pays special attention to the development of the agricultural sector, which is one of the priority areas of the country's economy and the main lever for the development of the regions of Kyrgyzstan.
Ambassador Abdyldaev expressed gratitude to the Eastern Committee of the German Economy for the shown interest and readiness to assist in promoting this issue and openness in continuing a constructive dialogue in the development of bilateral cooperation.
Along with this, during the event, the priority areas of the agricultural sector of our country were presented, as well as opportunities for the development of Kyrgyz-German cooperation in the implementation of mutually beneficial projects in Kyrgyzstan, including the increase in production and processing of environmentally friendly products.
The round table was attended by representatives of relevant government bodies and interested private companies and associations of Kyrgyzstan and Germany in the field of the agrarian sector.
This event was organized with the aim of stimulating the development of Kyrgyz-German cooperation in the field of agriculture by establishing direct contacts between the business circles of the two countries and attracting advanced experience, technologies and investments from Germany.
At the end of the event, an agreement was reached to continue close interaction and build up Kyrgyz-German cooperation in the agricultural sector.
The Eastern Committee of the German Economy ( ECGE) was founded in 1952 as a collective body of a number of major associations of business unions in Germany.
The ECGE is a major regional initiative of the German economy for 29 countries of Central, Eastern and Southeast Europe, the South Caucasus and Central Asia. The Eastern Committee assists the organization's members in implementing projects, establishing contacts and resolving issues related to entering the market in a particular region. In close collaboration with partner governments and Germany, the ECGE is working to remove trade barriers and improve economic framework conditions in the region.
