Kazakhstan starts to return electricity to Kyrgyzstan under commodity exchange agreement

Bishkek, Sept. 22, 2020. /Kabar/. Kazakhstan has begun returning electricity to Kyrgyzstan under a commodity exchange agreement, the press service of the National Energy Holding of Kyrgyzstan said. Earlier, in execution of the Kyrgyz Government order of 23.06.2020, JSC National Electric Grid of Kyrgyzstan (NEGK) and an authorized energy company of the Republic of Kazakhstan signed a contract on electricity commodity exchange in an approximate amount up to 300.0 million kWh. Under the electric power commodity exchange from June to August 2020 the volume of supplied electric power from the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Kazakhstan promptly amounted to 300.0 million kWh. Since Sept. 21 of the current year, the Kazakh party has begun return of earlier received equivalent volume of the electric power to the Kyrgyz Republic.
