Jörg Grabos: Eurovision in Baku will be the most spectacular of all

Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan.25 / Trend / This year's Eurovision contest will be the most grandiose of all, the head of the Brainpool TV producing company, Jörg Grabos said, according to the official site of Azerbaijani Public Television. Several ceremonies dedicated to the Eurovision-2012 contest will be hosted in Baku on Wednesday. The mayor of Düsseldorf, which hosted Eurovision 2011, Dirk Elsbers will present a symbolic key of the competition to the mayor of Baku Hajibala Abutalibov. Thus, Baku will pick up the baton of the contest. The drawing of countries-participants of the competition and presentation of its logo and slogan will follow it. In addition it will become clear in which semi-final the representatives of the "Big Five" (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, UK) and last year's winner Azerbaijan will perform. The event is set to be held at Buta Palace. The head of Eurovision project Jan Ola Sand noted that the participation of countries that haven't previously took part in the contest is a good indicator of the upcoming Eurovision event in Baku. "It shows that there is a great interest in the contest in Azerbaijan. Preparation for it is implemented on a high level, great new proposals are made. I believe that competition in Baku will be spectacular," Sand said. Manager on work with delegations Tahir Aliyev believes that Azerbaijan will put up a show, demonstrating Azerbaijani culture and high level of integration into Europe on Eurovision stage. A press conference for foreign journalists will be held during the presentation. Eurovision.az. website also begins to work on January 25. The winner of Eurovision-2011 Eldar Gasimov said: "I ​​am very pleased. We together with Nigar will participate. It is a great honor to participate in the events dedicated to Eurovision, because this competition became part of my life." The semi-finals of the competition will be held in Baku on May 22 and May 24 and the final will be held on May 26. According to the rules of the contest, five countries - Germany, France, Britain, Italy and Spain, as well as last year's winner Azerbaijan will take part directly in the final.
