Growth of COVID-19 disease in Kyrgyzstan is observed among citizens over 60

Bishkek, Oct. 20, 2020 / Kabar /. An increase in COVID-19 disease in Kyrgyzstan is observed among citizens over 60 years old, Deputy Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurbolot Usenbaev said at a press conference at the Kabar Agency. He said that nowadays, citizens over 60 years old are increasingly turning to medical institutions with a whole bunch of chronic diseases that are exacerbated by the virus. “Subsequently, we have lethal outcomes, despite the ongoing treatment and resuscitation measures,” he said. In addition, the deputy head added that, according to experts from the World Health Organization (WHO), one of the reasons for the new wave of coronavirus around the world is non-compliance with sanitary requirements, social distance and mask regime. “WHO notes that the main increase in the disease today is observed among citizens 18-40 years old. Often in this group of people, the course of the disease is asymptomatic or mild. Moreover, they are a source of infection. Therefore, observance of the mask regime, social distance and other sanitary measures is mandatory for both a sick and a healthy person. The mask should be worn indoors and outdoors,” he said.
