Closing ceremony of Cross Year between Kyrgyzstan, Russia likely to be postponed

Bishkek, Sept. 22, 2020. /Kabar/. The closing ceremony of the Cross Year between Kyrgyzstan and Russia is scheduled to be postponed until 2021, Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Prime Minister Erkin Asrandiyev said during the 22nd meeting of the Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Russian Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation.
He noted that the coronavirus pandemic had made adjustments, including to those events that were planned.
"But I think these measures will be implemented gradually,” he said.
Asrandiyev noted that Alexey Overchuk (Vice Prime Minister of Russia) proposed to postpone the closing ceremony to 2021.
In his turn, Alexey Overchuk said that no one could assume that pandemics would cause such damage.
"More than 220 events were planned and much could not be done. We offer our agencies to review what can be done in the current situation and postpone the closing to 2021," he said.
