Celebration of Independence Day in Bishkek to be held online - mayor's office

Bishkek, Aug. 28, 2020 / Kabar /. An event on the occasion of the Independence Day of Kyrgyzstan with the participation of the country’s President Sooronbay jeenbekov will take place at Ala-Too square on Aug. 31. Vice Mayor of Bishkek city Victoria Mozgacheva told at a briefing that taking into account the epidemiological situation, the event will be held in an online format. “The celebration will be broadcasted on the republican TV channels. There are no plans to hold mass events and festivities,” she said. Mozgacheva added that the start of the event will take place at 10:00, while the end is planned as early as 11:00. "At 22:00, a festive fireworks in honor of the Independence Day will take place on the Ala-Too square," the vice mayor said.
