Bishkek hosts online VI meeting of research centers of CCTS member countries

Bishkek, Nov. 20, 2020 / Kabar /. The 6th meeting of foreign policy research centers of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS) in the format of a video conference, chaired by the National Institute for Strategic Studies (NISS) of the Kyrgyz Republic, was held in Bishkek yesterday, the press service of the NISS said. The meeting was opened by Deputy Director of the NISS Kubanychbek Ismailov. Then the CCTS Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev, as well as the heads of analytical departments of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkey addressed the participants of the meeting with a greeting. In their speeches, the speakers noted the ever-growing role of the CCTS in the region and the world, especially after the adoption of documents truly crucial for the organization, designed to give a new impetus to the development of cooperation between the Turkic-speaking countries, in particular the CCTS Development Strategy, the creation of an investment bank, the CCTS office in Hungary, etc. During the videoconference, its participants discussed the issues of CCTS activities in the context of a pandemic. The importance of coordination of actions, exchange of information and mutual assistance in order to overcome the negative socio-economic consequences of the pandemic, as well as the need for close cooperation in order to comprehensively analyze the factors affecting the further development of the CCTS, taking into account global and regional processes, the feasibility of strengthening cooperation in trade and economic area. The meeting participants noted the need to ensure uninterrupted trade relations within the CCTS, the effective implementation of the aggregate economic and transit-transport potential of the organization's member countries. The proposals summarized at the end of the meeting will be submitted to the relevant ministries and departments of the member states and the CCTS Secretariat. At the initiative of the CCTS Secretariat, in addition in the format of a videoconference, working points were discussed to establish cooperation between the research centers of the Turkic-speaking states, in particular, the definition of the topics of joint research work, the release of a series of special publications dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Turkic-speaking states, as well as training of experts, exchange of research works and publications related to the activities and projects of the Turkic Council.
