Agriculture Ministries of Kyrgyzstan, Turkey sign agreement

Bishkek, June 10, 2021 . / Kabar / . Ankara city hosted on Thursday a bilateral meeting between Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Regional Development Azamat Mukashev and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey Akif Ozkaldy. During the meeting, issues of ongoing cooperation in the field of agriculture, which was conducted on the basis of the activities of the 9th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, as well as through the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) were discussed, the press service of the Kyrgyz Agriculture Ministry said. Azamat Mukashev and Akif Ozkaldy debated plans for future cooperation between the two ministries in the field of seed production, breeding, development of agricultural cooperatives, forestry and obtaining quotas for the export of cattle and cattle meat in Turkey. The main purpose of the visit of the Kyrgyz ministry’s leadership was to sign an Intergovernmental Agreement on cooperation in the field of plant protection and quarantine, which was signed June 9 in a bilateral meeting. This agreement provides cooperation in preventing the importation and spread of quarantine pests with transported products subject to quarantine phytosanitary control in the territories of the two states. Deputy Minister Mukashev expressed the hope that this agreement will increase the volume of mutual trade.
