150 Kyrgyzstani students to have opportunity for free studying in Hungarian universities

Bishkek, Oct. 1, 2020. /Kabar/. 150 students from Kyrgyzstan will have the opportunity to study for free in Hungarian universities, the press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Education and Science reported. Within the official visit of Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov to Hungary on Sept. 28-29, Kyrgyz Education Minister Kanybek Isakov and Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó have signed a bilateral agreement in the field of education. According to the agreement, 150 students from Kyrgyzstan will be able to study in Hungarian universities on budget basis. Since 2016, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic has been working closely with the Ministry of Social Affairs of Hungary on providing opportunities for citizens of Kyrgyzstan to study in higher educational institutions of Hungary on a budget basis. Initially, it was planned to educate 25 students annually, but since 2019, due to the high interest of Kyrgyz citizens in getting education in Hungary, the number of students was increased to 75 places. Such areas as international relations, political science, international business, IT, journalism, management and economics are in greatest demand among the citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic. During the visit, Minister Isakov also met with students from Kyrgyzstan currently studying at Hungarian universities.
