100,000 hectares of forest will be planted around Astana by 2020, this has been announced by President Nursultan Nazarbayev during his visit to "green belt" of Astana. ‘People thought that the trees will not grow here as the soil is salty. Foresters and scientists managed to solve the problem', said the President during his visit to Kyzylzhar forestry of the republican state enterprise "Zhasyl Aimak"near Astana. "To date 70,000 hectares of forest have been planted. 100,000 hectares will be planted by 2020", concluded the President.
