Iran wins CAFA Nations Cup 2023
Tehran, IRNA – Iranian National Football Team led by Amir Ghalenoei have been crowned champions of the 2023 Central Asian Nations Cup held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Iran defeated Uzbekistan 1-0 in the final match to win CAFA Nations Cup 2023 on Thursday. Sadrdar Azmoon scored Iran’s goals.
Iran's national football team had on Friday defeated Kyrgyzstan 5-1 in their second match in the 2023 CAFA Nations Cup and advanced to the final of the competitions.
According to its official website, “The Central Asian Football Association is one of the five Regional Associations of the Asian Football Confederation.”
“CAFA is currently headquartered in Dushanbe, Tajikistan and through its events, CAFA aims to develop and strengthen the game of football throughout the region by raising the standards and creating more opportunities for the Member Associations for further growth.”
