Zhaparov and Tokayev jointly visit Astana International Financial Center

The presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov and Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev jointly visited the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC) in Nur-Sultan, which provides financial services of an international level. The Kyrgyz president’s press service reported that the heads of state got acquainted with the activities of the International Arbitration Center, the AIFC Committee for the Regulation of Financial Services, the Center for the Provision of Public and Non-Public Services to Foreign Citizens and the AIFC Stock Exchange. The International Arbitration Center provides an independent, cost-effective and prompt alternative to litigation, acting in accordance with international standards for the resolution of civil and commercial disputes at the AIFC. The AIFC Financial Services Regulatory Committee regulates all types of market activities: banking, insurance, Islamic finance, asset management and private banking. The AIFC Center for the Provision of Public and Non-Public Services to Foreign Citizens is a platform where a wide range of public and non-public services is provided to foreign experts and investors on the basis of the “one window” principle in English. The main task is to create and ensure favorable conditions for entry and stay, as well as the integration of foreign experts and investors into the Kazakh society and business community. The AIFC Exchange was established to develop an active capital market in Kazakhstan and the Central Asian region and operates under the jurisdiction of English law. It is noted that the exchange provides a reliable and secure trading infrastructure with access to investments thanks to a developed ecosystem, which includes more than 20 local and international trading members. Sadyr Zhaparov got acquainted with all the structures and services of the AIFC with interest, noted the special importance of its work for investors, attracting investments to the country and exchanged views on this issue with Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
