World Bank developing two projects to revitalize energy sector in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, April 8, 2022 . / Kabar /. The World Bank is developing two projects to revitalize the energy sector in the Kyrgyz Republic, Charles J. Cormier, the World Bank Infrastructure Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia said during the International Energy Forum "Transformation of the Energy Sector of the Kyrgyz Republic on the Way to Affordable and Sustainable Energy of the Future". According to him, the WB has been helping many countries in this area for many years. "Thus, we are currently developing two projects in the energy sector in the Kyrgyz Republic: "Financing and recovery of the energy sector in the Kyrgyz Republic" and "Expansion of renewable energy,” the WB representative noted. Charles J. Cormier also stressed Kyrgyzstan's large hydroelectric potential and large resources in the energy sector. The Kyrgyz capital city of Bishkek is hosting on Friday the International Energy Forum entitled "Transformation of the Energy Sector of the Kyrgyz Republic on the Way to Affordable and Sustainable Energy of the Future". The event is planned to consider achievement of clean energy; accessibility of energy services; energy sector reform.
