Major General Al-Hassan hailed constant keenness of the Interior Minister to carry out the national strategy, thanking the National Anti-drug Committee, the Anti-narcotics Directorate and relevant security bodies for their efforts in fighting drug trafficking and addiction and praising the role of UNODC in combating crimes. He said that the workshop aimed to set a joint plan to protect the community from drug-related issues, asserting the importance of cooperation among all concerned parties to bolster the national anti-drug capabilities. He also hailed the role of the National Ma'an (Together) programme in fighting violence and addiction. Acting Director of Bahrain News Agency, Mohannad Sulaiman delivered a speech on behalf of the participants representing government organisations.
