Works minister receives French ambassador

Manama, Dec. 5 (BNA): Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Essam Khalaf has affirmed the deep-rooted Bahraini-French relations in urban and commercial areas and highlighted the government’s role in promoting the bilateral relations in order to serve the development march in both the countries and achieve leadership in the international economic fields. The minister received the French Ambassador to Bahrain Bernard Régnauld-Fabre, in the presence of Urban Planning Director-General Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and Director of Cities and Villages Planning Shaikh Nayef bin Khalid Al Khalifa. They discussed plans and restructuring of urban planning and means of promoting joint cooperation. The minister lauded the bilateral relations and affirmed that the government is keen on consolidating these relations to serve the best interest of both the countries and achieve the best services in the urban development. They reviewed the skills and expertise that France aims to transfer within the urban planning framework so as to upgrade the environment through reserving its natural components and infrastructure. They reviewed Bahrain urban strategy and regulations to serve the future joint cooperation and support urban sustainable development.
