Websites Coverage Contest in Arab Games Announced

Doha, November 28 (QNA) - The Organising Committee of the 12th Arab Games 2011 will organise Websites Coverage Contest during Arab Games from December 9 -23 in Doha, Qatar. The AG organisers allocated total prize money of QR 20,000 for winner website that will secure best media coverage for AG competitions, events, news, photos and interviews. AG Organising Committee set a series of conditions for the applicants stating that any participating website should publish AG logo on its main page, allocate special section for AG news and to perform live coverage on AG competitions. Additionally, any website must conduct daily interviews with players and officials, update medals tally of participating teams, as well as to publish video clips, significant events and photos during AG. In compliance with the media conduct regulation, any website engaged in the contest will mention the resource name in any news taken from other media body, also to avoid harm any country, character or entity during the coverage. As per AG Organising Committee, request to participate in the contest shall be sent to following email address: press olympic.qa, where results will be announced on January 15, 2012. Hassan Al-Mohammadi, Head of Media at the Qatar Olympic Committee and Director of AG Promotion, said that the contest aims to recognize the significant role played by web sites to cover all sporting events being held in the state of Qatar including the Arab Games.
