We are interested in strengthening co-op between business community of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey: Zhaparov

"We are very interested in strengthening the bridge of cooperation between the business communities of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey and are ready to make every effort for this," President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov said on Thursday speaking to the business community during a visit to the Union of Chambers and Industrial Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) in Ankara. The Kyrgyz leader expressed confidence that today's event will open wide opportunities for the development of fruitful contacts between entrepreneurs of the two countries. "Expanding economic cooperation is one of the key priorities of our work. There are many Turkish investors in Kyrgyzstan, we are always open to them and ready to welcome new entrepreneurs. We are interested in attracting investment, advanced technologies and management of Turkish companies for development of the country's economy,” Zhaparov added. He noted Kyrgyzstan, with its great investment potential, is ready to provide a "window" for free access to countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and markets of China. "We have projects that we offer to Turkish business in a number of areas of mutual interest, such as industry, public-private partnerships, agriculture, tourism, mining, light industry, hydropower, e-commerce, and innovative technologies. I urge Turkish businessmen to open joint ventures in Kyrgyzstan and use the full potential of Kyrgyz-Turkish cooperation. We are interested in holding a large-scale Issyk-Kul Business Forum on July 9 this year and invite Turkish companies and entrepreneurs to actively participate in this event," Zhaparov stressed. During the business forum, a video was presented about investment opportunities of the Kyrgyz Republic and its investment attractiveness. Further, Minister of Investment of Kyrgyzstan Almambet Shykmamatov spoke in detail about creating conditions for investors, amendments to some legislative acts of the country on investment, introduction of new mechanisms to attract foreign direct investment in the country. In turn, TOBB representatives noted the high interest of Turkish businessmen to participate in investment projects in Kyrgyzstan, as well as the intention to take part in the upcoming Issyk-Kul Business Forum on July 9 this year. The meeting was attended by representatives of major Turkish companies such as Tekfen holding, Coca Cola suculuk a.ş, Bilkent holding, Eczacibaşı, Simetri grup, Özdersan Deri Makinaları, Yılmaz teknoloji, Pasifik Eurasia lojistik dış ticaret, which are engaged in such areas as energy, light and food industry, nanotechnology, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, logistics, engineering and others.
