Water situation in inner Bangkok improving
BANGKOK, November 15 (TNA) - The water situation in Bangkok's some inner areas has been improving, as flooding has mostly been receding to only some 5-15 centimetres, passable for small vehicles now.
Flood water on the Lat Phrao Road, till the Central Lat Phrao Department Store at its main five-way junction, has been receding to 5-10 centimetres in all inbound and outbound lanes, with road surface clearly seen in some sections now.
Part of the Ratchadaphisek Road, from the Chao Phraya Park Hotel to the Ratchada-Lat Phrao Intersection, and on the Phahon Yothin Road toward the Ratchayothin Intersection, flood water has also dropped to 10–15 centimetres and residents along the nearby Bang Sue Canal have even started cleaning up their houses.
However, flood water at the Ratchayothin Intersection toward the Ratchavibha Intersection and adjacent Bang Khen area has remained at 20-30 centimetres deep, impassable for small vehicles, prompting military trucks to continue providing shuttle services for commuters.
Meanwhile, flood water on parts of the Vibhavadi-Rangsit Road, toward the Suthisarn Intersection near a bridge crossing over the Bang Sue Canal, has completely dried out, and both inbound and outbound lanes and traffic have returned to normal. (TNA)
