Waiver on Don Muang Tollway levy extended to Nov.20

BANGKOK, November 13 (TNA) - Chairman of the Don Muang Tollway Company Limited board Sombat Panich-cheewa has announced that a levy waiver for users of the Don Meaung Tollway in Bangkok will be extended until midnight of November 20, from midnight of November 12. Sombat said the decision on the levy waiver extension was based on the fact that part of the Vibhavadi-Rangsi Road below the Don Muant Tollway has remained inundated and impassable for small vehicles. According to the Don Muang Tollway board chair, a fresh assessment will be made, based on the updated water situation on November 19-20, to decide whether a further levy waiver extension is needed. Meanwhile, Parinya Rakwathin, a top executive of the Chao Phraya express ferry services, has also announced a further postponement of the resumption of the daily express ferry services in Bangkok until November 21, reasoning that existing high water levels in the Chao Phraya River have affected several piers and become unsafe for passengers.
