Volume of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan amounted to KGS 8M since beginning of year

In January-March 2022, the volume of industrial production amounted to more than KGS 80 billion, and increased by 7.3% compared to the same period of last year, Deputy Chairman of the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan Bakytbek Shokenov told at a press conference in Bishkek. Thus, the increase was due to the growth of production of oil products by 31.8%, wood and paper products, printing activities - 25.5%, pharmaceutical products - 21.3%, base metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment - 20.3%, food (including drinks) and tobacco products - 14.1%, textiles, clothing, shoes and leather products - 5.8%, as well as the extraction of minerals - 0.3%. The deputy chairman of the Statistical Committee noted that positive trends were observed in construction, where the increase in volumes amounted to 2.0%, agriculture - 2.3%, wholesale and retail trade - 6.7%.
