Virtual Design Unveiled for New Park in Honor of King Rama IX
BANGKOK, Nov 19 (TNA) - The Bureau of the Royal Household has released the virtual design of a new public park in honor of King Rama IX that is being constructed at the old compound of the Royal Turf Club which covers 297 rai of land on Phitsanulok Road.
The new public park was scheduled for completion in 2024. It will be a forest park that can also function as a water retention area in inner Bangkok.
Their Majesties the King and Queen initiated the project to honor King Bhumibol Aduluyadej The Great (King Rama IX) and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.
The new park will also be a learning center that will share knowledge about forest and water projects initiated by King Rama IX and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. The projects were the concept for the design of the new park.
The new park will include water retention areas, swamp forests and learning areas for general people to study the projects of King Rama IX. There will also be exercise and recreational areas.
His Majesty the King donated the land plot of the new public park for the public interest. (TNA)
