US Commander: Iraqi Forces Were Not Alone During The War On Daesh

Baghdad, Iraq (NINA) - Commander of American Central Air Force Gen. Jeffrey L. Harrigin confirmed that US aircraft are still searching for the remnants of Daesh organization in Iraq so far.
"Iraqi forces paid dearly for the liberation of their country, but they were never alone," Harrigin said in a press statement, added "Every step forward was covered by the coalition air force."
"The Iraqi forces were advancing when our planes were flying over them, and they would stop to rest if there was no flight," he said.
He added "the liberation of Iraq does not mean an end to Daesh in it, and the Air Force of the coalition is with the Iraqi counterpart patrols to continue hunting the remains of Daesh to make sure not to return.
The US Department of Defense announced on Friday that two coalition forces launched two attacks last week, one targeting a "tactical unit" belonging to Daesh near Baaj, while the second targeted a tunnel to Daesh organization near the city of Qaim.
He stressed the significant role played by the International Coalition's air force in the victory over "Daesh."
He referred to the great efforts being made to coordinate between the various units, such as unmanned aerial, which conveyed information to Iraqi Army commanders on the ground, Iraqi Army intelligence that penetrated communications systems, and the ground and air forces of Iraq or the coalition ./ End
