Undersecretary Of Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Meets Executive Secretary of the CTBT Organization

Baghdad / NINA / Undersecretary for Legal and Multilateral Affairs, Omar Barazanchi met the Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization, Lassina Zerbo with the presence of the Iraqi Permanent Representative at the International Atomic Energy Agency. During the meeting, the two sides confirmed Iraq's cooperation and support to enter the CTBT treaty into force. The Iraqi side emphasised that the entry of all states in the Middle East into the Treaty will be a step in the right direction in order to establish a nuclear-free zone area. Undersecretary emphasised the Iraqi government's keenness on participating and having constant interaction with the Preparatory Commission of the Organization despite the challenges Iraq faces, foremost is the fight against terror.
