Undersecretary of Justice Ministry Heads to Riyadh
Doha, June 02 (QNA) - HE the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice Sultan bin Abdullah Al-Suwaidi and his accompanying delegation left Doha on Sunday for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to attend the 4th annual meeting of the GCC Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Justice.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), HE the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice said that the meeting came in response to the decision made by the GCC Ministers of Justice during their 20th meeting, held in Doha on November 15 and 16 in 2008, regarding the pending projects which are still under study by the expert committees, and in continuation of the great and sincere efforts that have been exerted in previous meetings to lay the foundations of the GCC legal and judicial renaissance.
He noted that the meeting, which will be held at the GCC General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh on June 4 and 5, will address several important issues regarding the first meeting of the expert committee in charge of studying the standard model for the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) for lawyers in the GCC States, as well as the recommendation of the technical committee on the meeting of the expert committee in charge of the proposals of the GCC member states about the decision of the Ministerial Council at its 120 session concerning the prisoners of the GCC countries abroad, and set up the necessary mechanisms for its implementation.
HE the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice added that the meeting will also review the recommendations of the technical committees on the meetings of the expert committee in charge of the development of the GCC center for family guidance and reconciliation, and the recommendation of the technical committee on the meeting of the expert committee in charge of studying the unified draft law on the judicial authority of the GCC countries.
HE the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice and the accompanying delegation were seen off upon departure at Doha International Airport by a number of senior official at the Ministry of Justice. (QNA)
