Two-year moratorium on new construction proposed in Kyrgyzstan

It is proposed to introduce a moratorium on new construction of facilities in 2022-2023, the State Agency of Architecture, Construction, Housing and Communal Services of Kyrgyzstan reported. There are 491 unfinished construction projects worth KGS 13.9 billion in the country. In this regard, the State Architecture Agency will propose a moratorium on new construction in 2022 and 2023. Based on the amount of funding, in the coming year it is better to ensure the completion of construction and overhaul at least 70 facilities of socio-cultural purpose. "In addition, in order to implement the state policy on the provision of drinking water in settlements of the Kyrgyz Republic, in 2022 it is necessary to build and rehabilitate at least 74 water supply facilities across the republic,” the State Architecture Agency said. The moratorium proposal has been submitted to the Ministry of Finance for consideration.
