Turmoil in Egypt forces one-week shutdown in Turkish plants
ISTANBUL (A.A) - 31.01.2011 - Turkey's Sabanci Group on Monday said it will go on a week of shutdown at two of its plants based in Egypt as anti-government protests have rocked the country since Tuesday.
The group said bus and coach manufacturer Temsa Global plant and industrial fabrics and cords manufacturer Kordsa Global plant will have a week of recess.
Sabanci said all its workers at Egypt plants safely left the country for Turkey over the weekend.
The group said it will weigh the situation in Egypt over the next week before deciding to reopen the plants.
