Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Jan. 17 / Trend H. Hasanov / Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov touched upon the topic of constructing a new town of Abadan (near Ashgabat) at a special meeting. He stressed that these operations must carried out rapidly and with perfect quality, the Turkmen government said on Tuesday. It was reported in late 2011 that it is planned to start building a new residential complex in this area. The task of preparing the building project was given on July 10, 2011 after an emergency incident at a meeting of a special governmental commission. According to the official information, a fire occurred as a result of hot weather on July 7, 2011 in the vicinity of Abadan. This led to the detonation of fireworks and their spreading on the territory with the army warehouse. The country's authorities informed that nearby houses and facilities were partially damaged as a result of the emergency situation. President Berdimuhamedov studied the design of new buildings and expansion of the city of Abadan at the expense of mastering new land in September 2011. He said that there will be a new, modern city, as symbol of wealth of our nation in the epoch of new Revival. It was stressed that Abadan must be a model in all respects, including the environmental cleanliness. Its industrial facilities must be outside residential areas. Its new social, cultural facilities and the park complexes must become a real decoration of the city. The residential area of luxury houses, a shopping mall, a hotel, a health and agro-industrial complex and a cultural center are among the prepared projects. It is also planned to erect a modern administrative building, offices of public organizations and state agencies. The administration of the Akhal velayat and city of Abadan will work in this administrative building. Do you have any feedback? Contact our journalist at agency@trend.az
