TURKISH RED CRESCENT'S 35 TONNES OF HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE REACHES PAKISTAN
ISLAMABAD (A.A) - 05.08.2010 - Turkish Red Crescent Aid Society's 35 tonnes of humanitarian assistance has been presented to the Pakistani Red Crescent in Pakistani capital of Islamabad on Thursday.
The relief materials were taken to Pakistan in a cargo jet of the Turkish Airlines (THY) and includes 1,150 packages of food items, 420 kitchen sets, 1,000 blankets, 1,300 sleeping bags, and 2,400 sponge beds.
The aid materials will be distributed to people in north-western Pakistan, a region that was badly flooded after recent torrential rainfall.
More than 1,400 Pakistanis lost lives in the floods and more than 3.2 million people were negatively affected by the floods.
