I WANT TO BE RELEASED BECAUSE
Lawyers of journalist Nedim Sener objected to the court decision that sent the journalist to prison. In their 20-page petition, lawyers responded to claims of the prosecutor's office and said there was not any reason or condition to arrest Sener.
Lawyers said, "the restriction decision, the file number and date of which we could not learn, has hampered the right to defend. However, the contents of some phone talks which were not showed to us by showing the restriction decision as a pretext, were published in Bugun, Star and Yeni Safak daily newspapers."
They also said, "all the 23 phone talks except one of them was made in 2009. The investigation into our client was launched in 2010, so the tapping minutes, which were showed a reason for arresting Sener, are "illegal evidence."
MR. KEMAL SHOULD HAVE WARNED ME
Deniz Baykal, the former chairman of the Republican People's Party (CHP), said regarding allegations that he had harassed Iklim Bayraktar that current CHP chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu should have called him as soon as he had learned about the claim. Baykal said Kilicdaroglu should have warned him that he was being set up.
NEDIM AND AHMET IN EP REPORT
The European Parliament (EP) adopted a report on Turkey with a majority of vote, and expressed its concern about the freedom of press in Turkey.
The EP said the arrest of prominent journalists including Nedim Sener and Ahmet Sik might weaken the credibility of trials in Turkey.
The parliament's report expressed concern over too long detention periods before a trial begins, and once more underlined the need for an efficient and fair guarantee for suspects.
The report also stressed that Turkey could be a source of inspiration for the Arab world as a Muslim and secular democracy, which was overwhelmingly Muslim.

The hand-over ceremony could not be held at the Transportation Ministry and Supreme Court elections did not take place. School recess was extended, shopping malls were closed. Ankara Mayor Melih Gokcek said, "we haven't seen such a snowfall for years. We spilled 8,750 tons of salt on streets. The problems drivers have faced is because of their worn tyres."
HARHEST REPORT
The European parliament (EP), in its recent report on Turkey, criticized Ankara. It said there was no progress in Balyoz and Ergenekon cases, and expressed concern over arrest of journalists. The report said Turkey could not illuminate Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink killing.

Foreign Ministry said EP's report had elements that contradicted realities and that could not be accepted.
