TURKISH HOTEL CHAIN OPENS RESORT IN LIBYA
TRIPOLI/ISTANBUL (A.A) - 29.03.2010 - A leading Turkish hotel chain has opened a resort in Libya's capital city Tripoli.
Turkish hotel chain Rixos completed the construction of "Rixos Al Nasr" in 6 months and the facility opened its doors to visitors by mid-March, said the new hotel's deputy manager Sukru Kocak in an interview with A.A.
"Libya has a 2,200 km coastline, besides a beautiful sea, sun, beaches and historical values. Hotels are the only missing elements of the country, and that's why our group wanted to benefit from such potential," Kocak said.
Kocak also said that majority of the hotel's personnel were brought from Turkey's Mediterranean province of Antalya and nearly 40 percent of the guests were Turkish businessmen.
Rixos Hotels was established in Turkey's tourism center Antalya in 2000.
In addition to numerous hotels in Antalya, the group currently has resorts in the southwestern province of Mugla, central Anatolian province of Konya, capital Ankara, as well as Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Croatia, Dubai and Bahrain.
