Turkish air carrier launches flights to second largest London airport

LONDON (A.A) - Turkey's flag carrier airlines company, the Turkish Airlines, on Tuesday made its maiden flight to London's Gatwick Airport, the British capital's second largest international airport. A THY Airbus 321 landed at Gatwick with 195 passengers aboard and it received a fire truck welcome spraying water jets over the airliner.  THY was selected the best airlines in Europe in 2011. The company makes scheduled flights to 190 destinations around the world.
