Turkey in top ten countries participating in WAT program
ADANA (A.A) - December 5, 2011 - Turkey is among top ten countries participating in work and travel (WAT) program.
"7,000 students from Turkey are attending in the WAT program annually," said Izzet Aslantatar, director general of Edufairs International Education Fairs of Turkey.
Speaking to AA correspondent, Aslantatar said that Turkish students attached a great interest in the work and travel program.
"7,000 undergraduates visit the United States every year with this program. They work here and learn different cultures. They have to speak English to live there. Turkey is listed in top ten countries participating in this program," he said.
The Summer Work & Travel Exchange Program is designed as a postsecondary program where foreign students have the opportunity to work and travel in the United States for a four month period during their summer vacation. The program authorizes students to work to ensure that they have sufficient funds to pay for food and housing in the United States, while gaining exposure to life in America and improving English language skills.
