SLEDGEHAMMER GENERALS TO WAIT FOR ANOTHER YEAR
The fate of generals, jailed under the Balyoz (Sledgehammer) coup plan, became definite on the last day of the Supreme Military Council (YAS) meeting. Upon a "special request" of Acting Chief of General Staff Gen. Necdet Ozel, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan allowed the jailed pashas, who have to be promoted in this meeting, to stay at the same rank for one more year. But this will be valid for only one time.
