FIND WHO IS BEHIND THIS
A juvenile court in Istanbul has sentenced Hrant Dink's murderer Ogun Samast to 21 years 6 months in prison for "premeditated murder" and to 1 year 4 months for "possession of an unregistered weapon". Samast, who has been in prison for 4.5 years, will be released after serving his sentence for 10.5 years.
Commenting on the ruling, Hrant Dink's brother Hosrof Dink said Samast's sentence will not be intimidating and called on the judiciary organ to examine the background of this case.
5.2 SCALE WARNING FOR ISTANBUL QUAKE
The latest 5.2 magnitude earthquake at Marmara Sea frightened residents of Istanbul and 8 other cities, as 10 aftershocks were recorded afterwards. Prof. Naci Gorur warned everybody after the quake: "Every earthquake in Marmara should be taken seriously. If the fault line between northwestern Tekirdag province and the Marmara Islands is broken, a quake of at least 7.2 magnitude will shake the region".

SAMAST TO STAY IN PRISON FOR 11 YEARS ONLY
Hrant Dink's murderer Ogun Samast has been sentenced to 22 years 10 months in prison. Samast, who attended the trials as a "criminalized minor" rather than a "suspect", demanded his release at the latest hearing saying he was rehabilitated and his ignorance and lack of education had been exploited at the time of the crime. The court ruled for Samast's imprisonment on charges of "premeditated murder" and "possession of an unregistered weapon". Samast, who was 17 years old when he committed the crime, will stay in prison for 11 more years taking into consideration the time he has served in jail so far.

As the U.S. dollar reached its highest level since 2009 and pushed 1.74 TL, Turkey's Central Bank had to intervene. The bank both halted its daily foreign exchange buying auctions and reduced required reserve ratios for foreign-exchange deposits. After the intervention, there was a sudden and short-term decline in rates, however, USD climbed again after a while and reached 1.72 USD by the end of the day.

Turkish Football Federation (TFF) President Mehmet Ali Aydinlar finally made the statement regarding dates of the Spor Toto Super League and the Bank Asya First League after the match-fixing investigation. Aydinlar who met once again with prosecutor Mehmet Berk who is conducting the investigation said that Spor Toto Super League 2011-2012 season was postponed to September 9 and Bank Asya First League was postponed to September 10.
