Turkey: Iraqi Delegation Visits Ankara This Week

BAGHDAD / NINA / Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu announced today that an Iraqi delegation will pay an official visit to Ankara this week to discuss the crisis between the two countries due to the presence of Turkish troops in the camp Ba'shiqah. Çavuşoğlu said in a press statement that "the Iraqi side expressed a desire to dissolve the crisis through dialogue and diplomatic ways, and Turkey also believes in diplomatic ways and means to resolve the crisis." It is mentioned that the Foreign Ministry announced that Turkey had not responded to the demand of Iraq, calling for the withdrawal of its troops from Iraqi soil. The Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmad Jamal said in a press statement that "the Turkish Foreign Ministry delegation, which arrived in Baghdad yesterday to negotiate the withdrawal of their forces from Iraqi territory, provided ideas in this regard, but they did not live up to respond level of Iraq demand that Turkey withdraw its troops from camp Ba'shiqah and respect Iraq's sovereignty over its territory. " He stressed that "Iraq will depend on its national heroine troops in the liberation of Mosul and will not allow the presence of foreign troops fighting on the ground in Iraq." Turkish government delegation arrived in Baghdad yesterday evening, headed by Umit Yaljehin Deputy Foreign Minister and comprising officials from various security agencies, to discuss the presence of Turkish troops on Iraqi soil. / End
