TURKEY-BAHRAIN SIGN 5TH TERM JEC MEETING MOU


MANAMA (A.A) - 18.02.2010 - Turkish Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek said Thursday, at the end of 2010, Turkey will be world's 15th biggest economy with its purchasing power parity and gross domestic product worth over 1 trillion USD.
Turkey-Bahrain Joint Economic Committee (JEC) 5th term meeting's memorandum of understanding was signed in Bahrain's capital of Manama.
The MoU was signed by Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek on behalf of the Republic of Turkey and Bahrain's Finance Minister Sheikh Ahmad.
Speaking at the signature ceremony, Simsek underlined that international financial circles have affirmed that Turkey has gotten rid of the negative impact of the global (financial) crisis and that the country has entered a new phase of growth.
Turkey was successful enough to attract foreign investments worth 7.6 billion USD even during the global financial crisis, Simsek stressed.
Minister Simsek invited the entrepreneurs of Bahrain to invest in Turkey.
Bahrain's officials indicated that Turkey is a country regarded as a role model in the region.
