Chisholm outlined the company’s plans to increase its air cargo volume at BIA to support the Kingdom’s economic growth and the development of the civil aviation sector in particular.
The minister emphasised the need for cooperation with companies in the aviation and maritime sectors in order to ensure the provision of high quality services to clients.
He praised Texel Air’s efforts in contributing to the development and growth of economic activity and trade in the Kingdom.
Texel Air, an air freight company, was founded in September 2014 with its headquarters at Bahrain International Airport.
The company currently has 52 employees and operates on two cargo lines using two aircrafts of the type B737-300. It aims to expand its activity by increasing the cargo lines and bringing in international partners in Bahrain to help the growth of various specialised aviation activities.
The company has invested significantly to establish a hangar for maintenance and repair of aircraft at the airport.
