Tourism Authority Sign MoU with Stenden Qatar University

Doha, March 27 (QNA) - Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Stenden University Qatar to launch a new training program specialized tourist guidance. The programme aims to train tour guides to have full awareness of the rich tenets of the State of Qatar in terms of history, tourism and the outstanding cultural heritage. The MoU was signed by Chairman of Qatar Tourism Authority Issa bin Mohammed Al Muhannadi and President of Stenden Qatar University Wayne Johnson. Engineer Issa Al Mohannadi said the launch of the tourist guides programme matches the plan of Qatar Tourism Authority in the development of human resources in this sector which is considered the beginning of the launch of the training programmes for workers in the tourism sector to increase efficiency in the local market to provide tourist services conforming with the international standards.(QNA)
