Tough regulations to curb global warming urged

Jakarta, Aug. 20 (BNA): The Head of the Shura Council's Committee on Public Facilities and Environment, Jum'a Mohammed Al Ka'bi, member of the Kingdom's parliamentary delegation participating in the meeting of Permanent Committee on Economic Affairs and Sustainable Development of the Asian Parliamentary Association in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Al-Ka'bi urged the enforcement of legislations and joining agreements to reduce human destruction of nature as a result of huge quantities of global warming-inducing gas emissions which overwhelm the capacity of the atmosphere to maintain earth temperatures in addition to imposition of tough penalties and the incrimination of environmental polluters. He said this will put an end to the alarming rate of global environmental destruction.
He expressed hope that the participating Asian nations in the subcommittee meetings will adopt compulsory resolutions to ensure compliance of all to protect the world from the negative impacts of this phenomenon through international cooperation and mustering of efforts especially efforts on the part of advanced industrial nations basically responsible for these gas emissions.
