Total GDP of EAEU member countries grow by 3.6% in 6 months

The total gross domestic product (GDP) of the Eurasian Economic Union member countries grew by 3.6% in the first half of 2022, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov told at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council. He said that the industry sector also shows a positive growth rate of 1.8%, agriculture by 1.6% and investment in fixed assets by 11.1%. “It should be noted that following the results of 7 months of 2022, the growth trend of the GDP of the Kyrgyz Republic continues. Thus, the real growth rate was 107.7% and its volume amounted to 425 billion soms. The foreign trade turnover of our republic for January-June amounted to 5 billion US dollars and increased by 25.4% compared to the same period last year. The growth of mutual trade with the member states of the integration association for 6 months amounted to 34%, while exports grew by 69%, and imports by 23%,” Akylbek Zhaparov said.
