TIAW Excellence Award for Bahraini woman

Manama, Nov.17 (BNA): Health Ministry Assistant Undersecretary Fatima Abdelwahad Al-Ahmed has won the 2015 Excellence Award for Civil Service and Government Work. The International Alliance for Women (TIAW) awarded her the prestigious prize in a ceremony held in Washington, in the presence of leading women from all over the world.
The International Alliance for Women (TIAW) is a global organization dedicated to the economic empowerment and advancement of women all over the globe. The Bahraini laureate has become the first woman working in the health sector in the Middle East to win the award in recognition of her dedicate efforts in nursing, management and education over the past years.
TIAW President Margaret Weir attended the ceremony and congratulated her, commending Bahrain's efforts promote women's health empowerment. Bahrain Deputy Ambassador to Washington Mohammed Behzad was also present.
Ms. Al-Ahmed also attended the World Women Forum, which was organised by the International Alliance for Women (TIAW) to discuss best economic and social empowerment practices in the public and private sectors.
She took pride in the TIAW Award, paying tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
